From Service to Opportunity:

A Mission To Transform Lives

We connect compassion with action - creating pathways to employment, strengthening communities and empowering people to build a better future.

Who We Are:

A Legacy of Service

Core Group Cares was founded as the nonprofit arm of Core Group Resources, a leader in recruiting and staffing solutions. But we were never just about business - we were about people.

For years, Core Group Resources supported local and global organizations like Mission of Hope, Frontline, and Elijah Rising - providing relief for food insecurity, fighting human trafficking and supporting veterans.

While giving back was important, we saw a bigger need - a need for sustainable solutions that moved beyond temporary relief.

We asked a crucial question: What if we could do more than serve? What if we could create lasting pathways to opportunity?

The Rise Initiative: Expanding Our Mission

Inspired by this question, we launched The Rise Initiative in partnership with Hope Legacy Collective and The Baxter Trust to address two major crises:

Underemployment

Many capable individuals struggle to find career-track jobs.

Recidivism

The lack of stable employment keeps justice-impacted individuals trapped in cycles of reentry.

Stable employment reduces recidivism from 52% to as low as 9% - proving that work isn’t just a paycheck, it’s a second chance.

From Service to Sustainability

We bridge the gap between untapped talent and businesses looking for a dedicated workforce with our three fold approach:

  • Suspension bridge over lush green forest

    Partnering with Businesses

Connecting them with motivated, overlooked talent to build stronger teams.

  • Group of people working together on laptops in a library, smiling and engaged. Shelves with books and binders in the background.

    Collaborating with Nonprofits

Ensuring candidates receive mentorship, training and job-readiness support.

    Empowering Job-Seekers

Providing clear pathways to career-track employment, not just jobs.

  • By breaking down employment barriers, RISE is not only empowering individuals but also creating a ripple effect that benefits families and the broader Houston community.
